Prelude

It was centuries ago, that the War of Great Alliance was ended and peace was returned to the Continent. Nobody has the illusion what this peace really means, for each side watches the other warily, ever alert for opportunities for a deadly stab in the back. Still, peace means stability. Trade prospers between nations, even between old enemies. Trade brings prosperity, and prosperity makes people forget.

Though humans may have forgotten, the elves still remember. The dying whisper of their loved ones ... or the diabolic horor of brought by Empire armies, for centuries are no more than a life time for the longlived elves. Irronically, it was them who fell first. Through magic and craft, drows infiltrated elves impenatrable defense. Too late, the elves discover the threat, for by that time the mighty Elven kingdom was practically taken over by the drows, and their Queen was forced to be fugitive in their own city.

Almost at the same time, the great human kingdom of Lundar fell to the treachery of their own kin. Baron Blackrock now sits at the throne. Dwarven kingdom of Koradur is to be the next, falling to the hand of a new Dark Alliance.

This new Dark Alliance ... they are deadly! Drows are in it, as are evil cults from Toth, and opportunist lords and sorcerers. Big powers are again on the move, but this time as silent and as deadly as an assasin in the night. The days of free nations and free folks are numbered. There will soon be slaughters, and no more shall the sun shines as birghtly, nor will our children laugh as freely...

It is in this time of trouble that the tale, or call it legend if you like, of the Company of Warwick, as friends and allies call them, began. They met as mercenaries, each with their own reason, taking up an assignment from Blackrock city to deal with a band criminals who have been disturbing trade caravans on the Eastern Road. But they discovered that the criminals were not criminals, but more shockingly, the discovered a dark conpiracy of Blackrock lords and the drows against the Duke of Lundar. Since then, life was never the same again for the Company. Once paid to hunt outlaws, now they themselves are outlaws. Some were drawn by the thrill of danger, some were pushed by their youthful heroism, some were drawn by the promise of fortune, and some other simply had no choice ... and so, the Company of Warwick pledged to fight the deadly Dark Alliance of drows and opportunists lords.

This is a tale of heroism, a tale of extraordinary individuals, who fought a desparate battle against a foe of monstrous proportion, a cunning foe who also wields powerful magic, and a foe with inspeakable evil. Though each fought for a different reason, but, knowing or not, the Members: Aaron, a human knight; Aurend Lavin, an elven fighter and mindbender; Cale Gravesend, a human fighter;  Durumgorgar, a gnome gem merchant (among other things); Liana Talonshire, a drow mage and former assasin; Kadarl, a half orc fighter priest of Odin; Kali, a half-elf mage and priest; Kestral, a hal-elven ranger;  Olindinus, an elven mage and reluctant thief; Reland Trailblazer, a human ranger; and Warwick Forgemaker, a dwarven fighter priest of Reorx .. they are all united by one reason: the fought for their right to live as a free citizen.
